    Clomid to increase sperm count

My husband was supposed to take it for 6 months last year but only took it for a month and it increased his count so he stopped taking it. (It was still low though) So now he is ready to take it again because we aren't getting any younger. However, he drinks and smokes (tobacco) He was willing to go cold turkey the month that he took Clomid but I am wondering if he HAS to quit in order for CLOMID to be successful??????? (I say yes, but I honestly don't know) PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks in advance I don't know if he should quit so that clomid works but should just quit period because smoking affects sperm counts and quality regardless of what he's taking. Plus, it's better for you when/if you get pregnant and your child. was 1.9 million with 36% motility after the wash and 4 months later (on Clomid and Mega Man) after the wash it was almost 8 million with 95% motility. You may not realize it, but your sperm count is constantly in flux. It goes up and down as changes in your health, habits, and the world around you impact your body’s ability to produce sperm. These fluctuations are normal and often pretty minor. We designed our tools to make sure you have the insights you need to majorly take control of your fertility and chances of conception. Your count right now is likely different than it was yesterday or will be tomorrow. Your biggest source of day-to-day sperm count fluctuation is how often you ejaculate. Ejaculating less than 24 hours after your last “session” will likely lower your count, while waiting excessively long (7 days or more) tends to give you a higher count but of poorer quality (a lot of the cells will be dead). Every guy is different, but ejaculating once every 2 or 3 days is probably a good sweet spot to optimize your count. Other factors that can temporarily lower your sperm count include getting sick, having a fever, not sleeping well, or having a very stressful week. If this is you, hopefully they are short term issues and your count should return when life is back to normal.

As we discussedlast time, in some men, FSH and/or LH production is low. This results in a low testosterone level as well as a very low sperm count. Once the urologist has eliminated an anatomic cause for the problem, we can treat these men with clomiphene citrate (Clomid), the same drug that we give women who are not ovulating correctly. When given to men, Clomid causes an increase in FSH and LH secretion– leading to an increase in both sperm production and testosterone secretion. Guys may need to take Clomid for at least 3-4 months to see the optimal effect, as it takes 90-108 or so days from the time a sperm is made until it is ejaculated. Clomid comes in 50 mg tablets and the typical starting dose for a man is either 50 mg every other day or 25 mg daily. About three weeks after a man starts taking Clomid, we will recheck his FSH, LH, and testosterone levels to make sure that they are not too high. I’ve been prescribing Clomid for men with low sperm counts for several years. A study just out shows that the combination of clomid and vitamin E can significantly increase pregnancy rates and sperm counts in certain situations. The side effects men experience from Clomid is nothing like what women experience. Men won’t have hot flashes, night sweats or bloating. I think this is one of the most common concerns I hear about. This is how clomid works for men: Clomid works to increase levels of FSH and LH. These hormones are secreted by the brain and stimulate sperm production.

A couple of months ago I asked if anyone here experienced weight gain while on propranolol. I was on propranolol for about 10 months and noticed the weight gain around the fifth month, my doctor asked for some blood test to make sure it wasn't my thyroid and we waited to see if the side effect was momentarily. It's been almost one month and a half I'm off propranolol and I already lost the 8 pounds the medication gave me. About my migraines, propranolol did work very well partially. It did nothing to my stress related migraines but as a preventive for general migraines worked very well. The problem was the lack of energy I was only able to notice once I was off the medication. I'm posting this update in case anyone is experiencing weight gain or lack of energy with propranolol and want to discuss it. I'm on propranolol and it seems like I've just slowly been gaining weight no matter what I do. I thought I was crazy because nothing made me lose weight, it was very frustrating. For some people the side effect can be temporary but for some it's not. It also hasn't helped prevent migraines, so maybe I just need to inquire about something new. My doctor said propranolol might slow our metabolism that's why some people suffer weight gain. This subreddit works as a support group for myself and I guess it's the same for you. I'm 16 and have been on some sort of drug for my migraines since I was in primary school (9/10 years of age for Americans), and propranolol since year 9 of secondary school (13/14 years of age for Americans) I'll admit, did see a change in my migraines but my GP said, which i agree with, it could've just been aging/growing up. I've stopped taking them near christams upon my own accord and I have definitely seen an increase in my motivation and energy levels, not too sure on my weight as I've always been a chubby kid.
